Dr. Seuss' My Many Colored Days Cookies

Have you ever read Dr. Seuss' My Many Colored Days? I hadn't even heard of it and I truly thought that I had read them all being the Seuss fan that I am, said Sam I am, lol!

I received another Dr. Seuss Reading week cookie order and this time the assignment was for this book. Needing inspiration, I went to researching and was so surprised to learn that this book was published posthumously in 1996, but originally written in 1973. I found this info online during my search and found it very interesting.

"Dr. Seuss wrote a letter outlining his hopes of finding "a great color artist who will not be dominated by me." The late Dr. Seuss saw his original text about feelings and moods as part of the "first book ever to be based on beautiful illustrations and sensational color." It was published posthumously in 1996 and features paintings by Steve Johnson and Lou Fancher."

Filled with wonderfully fluid watercolor paintings, the rhyming words tie in seamlessly with the movement of color that creates a completely different and unique ‘Suess’ experience. I was inspired and decided to give the watercolor look a go with this set.

I'm a true believer that we never stop learning. This cookie set added to my daily learning experience and I was thrilled with the chance to create something inspired by this beautifully written AND illustrated book!
